COMPETING FOR GROWTH:
WHERE DESIGN & DATA PLAY TO WIN

While working in-house at Adjust, I had the opportunity to lead the design for the Mobile App Growth campaign — a project that would become a canvas for reimagining how performance data could be visualised. The challenge was to transform complex data into a visually engaging celebration of achievement that would capture attention and spark imagination.

BRINGING NUMBERS TO LIFE

I drew inspiration from the vibrant world of sports — not just for its competitive intensity, but for its playful spirit of achievement. Imagine the excitement of the finish line, the anticipation of a leaderboard, the joy of a victory celebration. These became the building blocks of a design approach that would bring numbers to life.

LEVELING UP THE ADJUST GROWTH SCORE

Inspired by the concept of the Adjust Growth Score as a prestigious, financial-index-like metric, I designed a custom icon to serve as a visual anchor. The goal was to solidify the Adjust Growth Score's identity and make it uniquely recognisable, transforming this complex data point into an instantly understandable benchmark.

A WINNING COMBINATION

The colour palette and design patterns were carefully crafted, with subtle references to sporting environments—tracks, courts, and stadiums. These visual metaphors translated complex data into an experience that was not just informative, but celebratory. Bold, punchy colours and carefully crafted typography ensured that the numbers didn't just sit on the page — they leapt out with energy.

RETRO-ACTIVE TYPE

Each design element played a part in the storytelling. In hero and splash areas, I used customised lettering inspired by retro sports trading cards. Graphics transformed statistics into visual stories, and throughout the design, a focus on the spirit of achievement worked to create something more than a report. It was a visual journey that celebrated the success behind the numbers.

TOUCHPOINT TOUCHDOWN

The campaign spread across multiple design touchpoints: a comprehensive report, a dedicated landing page, digital advertisements, social media content, and an animation collaboration with the in-house video team. Throughout, the design remained true to Adjust's brand identity, reinforcing their innovative approach to mobile app marketing and measurement. By blending data-driven insights with the playful energy of sports graphics, we transformed a potentially mundane reporting tool into a vibrant, engaging visual story that celebrated app growth.
